Born in Roberval, Lac St-Jean, Quebec, Jeanick FOURNIER grew up in Dolbeau where she started singing at 10 in churches. She began on stage by being picked among 40 children, to play the first role in a short regional opera named “Riquet à la houppe”. She’s also took part to many other amateur singing competitions. She was the winner of the Western Festival of Dolbeau-Mistassini in 1988. From the age of 17, she went on singing in a duo “Guy & Jeanick” for 16 years. She sang all over Quebec in many festivals, bars, weddings, funerals and events such as the famous International Crossing of Lac St-Jean. She was picked by the well-known singing touring company QUEBECISSIME for its show “PARTY”, which turned out in a real successful event.
Jeanick fulfilled many dreams over the last decades. She has given more than 200 shows of her classic “Jeanick sings Céline DION”. A real dream because Céline always been her idol. From the first time she saw Céline singing “Ce n’était qu’un rêve” (It was only a dream), on a Quebec famous TV show called Michel Jasmin, she cried and told her mom she wanted to do like the star. “Since that day, Céline is a real example of perseverance and of simplicity to follow. My other favorite stars are Maria CAREY, Whitney HOUSTON, Marie-Denise PELLETIER & Marie CARMEN”.
Since then, Jeanick has been singing a bigger repertoire such as including country, disco and many other different classics to provide shows to corporate events and on demand. After The Voice’s M. Esteban saw some of her videos on the web, he invited her to show up on the spot to the auditions of the popular TV show. Many media leaks downplayed that possibility to be part of that TV event. Despite that, Jeanick was hired by Skatemania’s producer, Alain Goldberg in his spectacular show, broadcasted in October 2014.
Among her other dreams, Jeanick always wanted to have kids. But she couldn’t. So with her husband, they adopted two trisomic 21 kids, Yohan in 2009, and Emma in 2013. These kids simple desire to live happy everyday is a sweet bliss for the singer.
